Check out “Looking Closer” from Picturing Texts by Faigley, George, Palchik, and Self. They offer a series of questions to ask an image as you analyze it. Identify and write down the questions they want you to pose of an image. 

Look though the images in Ferella’s photo essay, “Not Forgotten: Wisconsin Roadside Memorials.” Try and find images that surprised your or interested you. Select one image about which you have the most curiosity. 

Next, apply answer of the questions provided by Faigley, Palchik, and Self  about that image. Record your answers and post them here. Try to use specific details.
