Alison A. Lukowski is an Assistant Professor and Writing Program Administrator in Christian Brothers University’s Department of Literature and Languages. I teach courses in first-year composition, professional communication, and digital rhetoric. My recent research has focused on the intersection of gender and digital media; in particular, the ways in which mothers use social media to create, distribute, and seek knowledges about their own bodies. I am currently working on a project that analyzes US university presidents’ response to the rescission of DACA.
Hailing for the northern shores of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, I received a B.A. in English and Political Science from Alma College. I went on to receive a M.A. in English from Loyola University Chicago. I completed my Ph.D. in English – Rhetoric and Composition at Northern Illinois University, where I also completed a graduate certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality.
Research Interests: digital rhetoric, new media studies, history of rhetoric, women and rhetoric, and first-year composition
